remove "First Administrative Group" in Exchange System Manager?
I have now transitioned over to Exchange 2007, but I still have Exchange System Manager. Under "Administrative Groups" I have "Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)" and "First Administrative Group".I'd like to get rid of "First Administrative Group" as it only contains data for the old Exchange 2003 server (which at this point has been removed and is no longer running). Can I delete that group? I'm assuming there's some process I need to go through. Is there a TechNet article about that? I couldn't seem to find one. Thanks!

FYDIBOHF23SPDLT is the default RG created when you installed Exchange 2007 into your Exchange 2003 Org. Please follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931to remove the first Ex2003 Server which I assume you followed when you did remove Exchange 2003 which includes ESM? You no longer use Exchange System Manager to manage Ex2007 but Exchange Management Console or Exchange Management Shell.MVP Exchange Server

Lucciano,It is not recommended to remove First Administrative Group - If you do so, you will face issues with Public folder replication, schedule free busy and other LegacyDN issues. (IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO REMOVE FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP)follow the below KB properly and remove your first Legacy server from exchange 2007 organization. How to Remove the Last Legacy Exchange Server from an Organizationhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905.aspx Arun Kumar | MCSE - 2K3 + Messaging | ITIL-F V3

hi,if you moved Exchange Server related objects (mailboxes, RUS, Public Folder Syncronization etc) then you can delete routing groups and uninstall exchange server 2003 from organization.regards,Exchange - MVP | www.cozumpark.com | www.mumincicek.com

Hello,On the third day of our transitioning form exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 i made a big mistake. After uninstallation of our old exchange 2003 server i made wrong translation of "To remove the last Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000 server from an Exchange 2007 organization", chapter 5, form that document:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905%28EXCHG.80%29.aspxSo i delete First Administrative Group from our exchange organization.Which option is better for me, to make autorative restore of AD Configuration or to use my favorite chapter 5.m: /o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (Internal_Name)/cn=Recipients/cn=%'Alias' Regards firesnow
